Dr. Laura Goddard
Laura is a USPA Certified Polo Instructor and has been playing polo for more than 30 years. She learned to play polo at Cornell University and brought her newly learned polo skills to the University of California, Davis where she initiated a lesson program and helped coach the UC Davis polo team. After earning her Ph.D., Laura moved to the Washington D.C. area in 2003 and initiated a successful polo school in Poolesville, MD, operating for 6 years. Finally, Laura and Hugo acquired their current farm, Mountain View Polo, in 2010 and are thrilled to bring new players into the sport!

Hugo Pasten
It is a mystery how South Americans are born with natural horse and polo talent, and Hugo is no exception. Hugo is a native Chilean with over 30 years of polo experience in training horses, grooming, and professional playing. He has played polo professionally at numerous polo clubs including Royal Palm Polo in Florida and Maryland Polo Club in Baltimore, in tournaments up to 14 goals. Hugo is an incredibly patient instructor and makes every lesson a relaxing, fun, and rewarding experience.
