Anyone can learn to play polo!
No polo or horse experience? No problem! We start from the very beginning, teaching you the basics of polo riding and hitting the ball. Students can progress from beginner through advanced practices, where the focus is on learning rules and team plays. Our patient horses and instructors will guide you through learning this addictive sport on horseback. Adults and ages 9 & up welcome.
Mountain View Polo Club is located in Charles Town, West Virginia. Practices and lessons are conducted in either of our 300' X 100' outdoor arena or irrigated grass polo field with beautiful views overlooking the hills surrounding the Shenandoah River. The club boasts a hitting cage complete with life-size wooden horse, so club members can perfect their polo swing. Our instructors include: Dr. Laura Goddard, a United States Polo Association Certified Polo Instructor with 30+ years of polo playing and teaching experience, and Hugo Pasten, a professional polo player mastering the sport for over 30 years. Mountain View offers private lessons, clinics, USPA and club tournaments, and weekly practices that are all umpired and coached to produce the smartest, safest polo players. Mountain View is located 30 minutes from Leesburg, VA and Frederick, MD, and an hour from Washington D.C.
